WHAT ARE NASOLABIAL FOLDS?
Nasolabial folds, which take their name from Latin, are cavitations that start from a nose point and extend to the mouth. Since these folds pull down the face’s expression, individuals always encounter a pale and exhausted facial expression when looking in the mirror. Life becomes a little harder for them. For example, the person may think that s/he gets insufficient sleep and may experience a desire to sleep above the limit. Nasolabial folds are found in almost everyone and become more pronounced cavitations in time.
HOW DO NASOLABIAL FOLDS FORM?
Nasolabial folds are observed in every individual from infancy. While these lines are observed deeper in some individuals, they are too few to be seen in others. Nasolabial folds are caused by the gradual reduction of adipose tissue or the low production of collagen in that area. It may become apparent over time or genetic factors may directly affect it. For example, cavitations that are expected to become apparent at the age of 50 are observed in some people in their 30s. In brief, time and genetic structure work against the look and support the formation of more apparent folds.
HOW ARE NASOLABIAL FOLDS TREATED?
The treatment of nasolabial folds caused by the decrease in adipose tissue or collagen production in the area is not provided with creams and collagen capsules as we think. Because the folds are located much lower than the layers that the creams affect. Since there is no information that collagen can directly affect that area, it is considered an impossible way, according to researches. The treatment of these folds is provided by Botox, filling, babyface beauty and salmon DNA methods.
→ BOTOX
Since Botox is a painless method, it is a very demanding application. The physician determines the area to be treated for the folds’ treatment and makes the dosage adjustment. Local anaesthetic cream is applied to the area before starting the procedure. Thus, the procedure becomes easier for the patient, and s/he does not feel pain.
→ FILLING
Filling of nasolabial folds can be applied to anyone, except for pregnant women and individuals with certain diseases, under the physician’s control. Pain is minimally felt through the anaesthesia creams. A cannula needle is used to fill the folds in large areas. The needle that coincides with the vein or nerve area slips to perform the procedure. If the cannula needle is not used, the physician has to stick needles in many places and the procedure may become more painful and challenging. The physician determines the filler’s dosage, which varies from person to person. Since it is applied with minimal numbers, the possibility of swelling of the face is almost negligible. Regional edema occurs in some individuals after the procedure. It takes an average of three weeks for this edema to disappear and the process to settle.
→ BABY FACE BEAUTY
This method, which treats the folds in a short time, is performed painlessly with the help of a laser without anaesthesia. The physician opens various microchannels with the laser mode to be applied to the patient’s face. Collagen ampoule is applied to the skin, and the procedure, which takes an average of 10 minutes, is completed pain-free.
→ H-100 VACCINE
For the fold treatment of the patient whose skin is cleaned, the area determined by the physician is anesthetised with creams. This vaccine, which is not strong is injected. No pain is felt during or after vaccination. As it is easy to apply, it is a preferred application.
→ SALMON DNA
This method, which is obtained from the DNA of salmon fish, allows the cell renewal in cavitation. It is highly preferred since it is a natural method. During the application, microchannels are opened, and the procedure is performed painlessly. Since there will be no complaints such as swelling and pain, etc. after this procedure, which takes an average of 20 minutes, patients can continue their daily lives just after the intervention.
