Please include your full name, e-mail address and mobile number including the country code together with the type of procedure in which you are interested in your message. We will need some photos from you to provide you with a quote if you don’t mind.
Our Patient Care Coordinator who is also a qualified nurse will answer your questions on the procedure(s) such as duration of the surgery, duration of the hospitalisation, duration of the visit, average cost, etc.
2. QUOTE
Professor Yazar will examine the photos you sent. You will be sent an all-inclusive quote. In very rare cases in which the patient prefers not to share these photos, estimated cost is provided.
3. CONFIRMATION AND ITINERARY
Once you confirm you would like to go ahead with the procedure and share your flight details with the patient care coordinator, an itinerary will be put together that best suits your medical and logistical requirements. We can also provide advice on accommodation.
4. CONSULTATION AND PRE-OP TESTS
During this 40-minute appointment, Professor Yazar will establish your specific requirements, your medical background and provide you with appropriate surgical options. He will also answer any questions you may have and provide advice on how to best prepare for surgery and you will be fully briefed on what you need to do. You will be provided with a mobile number you can call 24/7.
You will pay a visit to the hospital same day for pre-op tests including a Covid-19 test. Admission to the hospital is organised for the following day for surgery. Prior to surgery, it is expected that the invoice is concluded.
5. THE DAY OF SURGERY
Prior to surgery, you will be asked to sign the official consent to proceed and will meet your consultant anaesthetist if needed. Professor Yazar will discuss the details regarding your surgery once again with you before the surgery. Your surgery might be performed with local anaesthesia, with local anaesthesia and sedation or under general anaesthesia depending on the type of surgery. Professor Yazar will mark your body for surgery before you move to the operating theatre.
6. AFTER YOUR SURGERY
Your progress will be monitored to ensure the anaesthetic wears off safely (which should only take a few hours) and pain control is managed. Professor Yazar places great emphasis on pain management. Even if the surgery is performed under general anaesthesia, local anaesthesia is also administered so that you don’t feel pain following the surgery.
After surgery, you will be provided with an immediate verbal summary on how your operation went. If you wish, Professor Yazar will ensure any relatives are informed of your progress. The nurses will place ice packs on surgical area(s) to control swelling and bruising. A nurse will be immediately available when you ring the bell if/when needed.
7. RECOVERY
Professor Yazar will reconfirm how long you may need to stay in hospital and will assess the clinical situation every day in the morning prior to discharge.
8. HOSPITAL DISCHARGE
Before leaving the hospital (in most cases one or two days after surgery), your will be thoroughly checked and you will be provided with recovery advice and details of the next steps. Professor Yazar will prescribe oral antibiotics, pain killers and if necessary other medication. You don’t need to go to the pharmacy yourself to get them. Your medication will be brought to you.
9. FOLLOW-UP APPOINTMENT
Professor Yazar will see you in his private practice in the afternoon 3-4 days or a week later depending on the type of the procedure following your surgery. Professor Yazar will go through postoperative instructions in this appointment. He will request you make a video in the meantime so that you can always refer to the instructions if needed.
Follow-up appointment will also be for wound care, dressing changes and suture removal where necessary. You can fly home the same evening. In the unlikely event of a complication, you can always contact the clinical nurse or Professor Yazar 24/7.
10. LONG TERM RESULTS
Within a few months, once the swelling has reduced and the wound has healed, the true results of the surgery can be ascertained.
