Ankle Aesthetics

What is Ankle Aesthetics?

Ankle aesthetics are surgical procedures performed on fatty tissue in the area below the knee and around the ankle to give the legs a more elegant and aesthetic appearance. Aesthetic ankle surgeries are performed to reshape the ankle according to body proportions.

SAnkle aesthetics, which are among the top 10 most requested cosmetic procedures when it comes to women, are rarely sought after by men. The feet and legs, which hold a significant place in a woman’s anatomy, are areas that cannot tolerate imperfections in terms of overall appearance. While ankle surgery may not be able to thin the bones of the foot, removing the fatty tissue around the ankle can give it a more elegant look.

All individuals who believe their feet are thick from the knee down can achieve their desired appearance with ankle aesthetics. Thick ankles directly affect women’s aesthetic concerns. In addition, swelling in the ankle area when wearing shoes or boots, and difficulties experienced while walking, can also be reasons for choosing this aesthetic procedure.

How is Ankle Slimming and Correction Aesthetic Surgery Performed?

Before undergoing aesthetic ankle surgery, the doctor will first listen to the patient’s wishes and expectations and then perform the necessary analyses, as the patient’s fat tissue will be reshaped. Based on the planned treatment, the doctor ensures the patient is ready for surgery. The duration of ankle aesthetic surgery varies depending on the individual’s fat percentage and is completed in approximately 1-2 hours. Surgical intervention is unavoidable. In this surgery;

  • General anesthesia will be needed if the bones are to be operated on.
  • Regional anesthesia may be applied if soft tissue and fat tissue are to be worked on.

While problems in patients with thick bones may not be completely resolved in some cases, the issue can be significantly alleviated. However, the outcome in each specific situation can only be determined through examination by a specialist doctor.

What are the steps involved in ankle aesthetic surgery?

Pre-operative examinations and measurements identify excess fat below the knee. This excess fat is removed using thin cannulas, while the calf muscles are reshaped to achieve a more aesthetically pleasing appearance. If deemed necessary by the physician, fat grafting can be performed in other areas to achieve more defined legs.

Thick ankles are often a hereditary condition. If this area doesn’t thin despite diet and exercise, cosmetic surgery is the best option. As with all surgical procedures, there are important steps the patient must take before undergoing foot aesthetic surgery.

What the Patient Needs to Do Before Ankle Thinning and Correction Surgery

  • The patient should quit smoking at least 3 weeks before the surgery.
  • You should not use blood thinners or medications that increase blood flow.
  • Weight loss products include herbal products such as flaxseed, green tea, cherry stem, etc.
  • Ginseng, Ginkgo Biloba, multivitamin pills
  • Pain relievers such as Apranax, Vermidon, Novalgin, etc., should be avoided.
