What is Nasal Tip Aesthetics (Tipplasty)
Aesthetic surgery procedures performed by plastic surgeons to correct various nose tip deformities such as high, thick, long, wide nose tips, etc. where the anatomical structure of the nasal bone is normal but the cartilage at the tip of the nose disrupts the aesthetic asymmetric angle between the nose and the lip are called tipplasty.
What is the General Structure of the Nose Tip?
The nose is the organ of smell located in the middle of the face that attracts the most attention when looked at. The nose tip has an effect that changes the appearance of the face.
The nose tip (called the nasal tip in the medical literature) is the most prominent region of the lower 1/3 pyramid of the nose. The nasal tip is formed by the most protruding points (domes) of two cartilages, the soft tissues between the domes, the ligaments, and the skin covering the ligaments.
The nose tip is the highest junction of the cartilage in the shape of two -n- letters, which make the wings of the nose. This region is very important for a nose job. The height, angles, and width of the nose cartilage are quite significant aesthetically. There are various nose types. The thinnest skin is located at the root of the nose and thickens as it reaches the tip of the nose. As it comes towards the tip of the nose, the density and number of intradermal glands increase. So, the thickest skin on the nose is at the tip of the nose. Rhinoplasty (nose job) is important as it directly affects the appearance and nose tip (nasal tip) operations are the critical parts of a nose job.
How to Perform Nose Tip Surgery?
Nose tip surgery is performed in 30-60 minutes using the closed nose job technique through incisions from the inner part of the nose by sedation or local/general anaesthesia at the discretion of the surgeon depending on the status of the patient. It can be performed alone on the tip of the nose. In order to ensure the harmony of aesthetic order with other parts of the nose, proper planning must be done by the surgeon before the surgery.
If the patient has a cartilage deficiency at the tip of the nose, the graft taken from the inside of the nose are placed to support the cartilage. Depending on the results of the analysis of the surgeon, soft tissue procedures can also be performed for patients with thick nasal skin.
If the plastic surgeon has performed a procedure on the nasal septum region (the area between the nostrils) of the patient, then s/he prefers silicone leaflets and external nasal mould that allow the patient to breathe more comfortably from his/her nose, instead of the classic cloth pad. In some cases, the surgeon completes the nose tip surgery with nose tip punch (septal strep) tool with absorbable sutures without using tampons.

Nasal Tip Surgery Frequently Asked Questions
Burun ucu estetiği cerrahi işlemlerinde ve sonrasında hastada nefes alma sorunu olmaz.
The patient will not have respiratory problems during or after nose tip surgery.
Cartilage grafts are frequently used in the tipplasty procedure to provide the desired aesthetic appearance on the patient’s nose tip area. In patients with a thin skin structure, grafts may become visible after some time. It is important to plan the surgery carefully by an experienced surgeon to avoid this problem.
Special bandages are used on the outer part of the nose. A plastic splint is placed in more complex nose tip procedures. Special bandages and splints are removed under the supervision of a surgeon within 5-10 days.
