2019-2020 Scientific Meetings

Afyonkarahisar Victory Week Meeting was held online on 29 August 2020 with the subject of "Maxillofacial Traumas".

Our Association's South-eastern Anatolia Regional Meeting was held online on 13-14 June 2020, with the topic of "Hair Transplantation and Rope Strap Methods".

Our Association's XIII. Rhinoplasty and VI. Facial Aesthetics Course was held online between 21-22 May 2020.

Our Thrace Region Regional Meeting, which we planned to hold in Edirne, was held online on May 1, 2020, due to the Covid -19 outbreak.

TPRECD 2020 Winter Symposium was held in Uludag - Bursa with the participation of 110 people with the topic of "Everything About the Nose" between 27 February - 1 March 2020.

The 2nd Regional Meeting of the Istanbul European Side Region with the subject of "Implant Mastopexy" was held at the American Hospital on February 21, 2020. The topic of our regional meeting was chosen from among the requests received in the past year. One of the procedures performed by almost all plastic surgeons is implant mastopexy. Numerous topics on both the nature of this surgery and implant technology were discussed in our regional meeting.

Eastern Mediterranean Regional Meeting on "Cleft Lip and Palate" held within the scope of our Association's Regional Meetings; It was held in Gaziantep between 7-9 February 2020.

Western Mediterranean Region Meeting - Flap Dissection Course, held within the scope of our Association's Regional Meetings; It was held in Antalya on 25-26 January 2020.

V. Plastic Surgery Assistant Basic Training Course was held on 22-25 January 2020 in Antalya. 58 residents from different clinics throughout the country attended this training.

Aegean Region Meeting on "Face and Ear Reconstruction" was held on 29-30 November 2019 in Izmir. An important way of dealing with field violations in our branch from various media is to do our job in the best way possible. Keeping our competence and dominance at the highest level in Head and Neck Reconstructions, where the foundations of Plastic Surgery are laid, is a must for protecting our field. A Plastic Surgery that has lost its reconstructive aspect will also lose its reason for existence. For this reason, the topic of our meeting was determined as "Face and Ear Reconstruction" and it was a productive meeting.

In the 100th anniversary of the War of Independence, as TPRECD, we held our 41st National Congress in Samsun on 26-30 October 2019. 470 people, including 211 specialists, 131 residents, 9 medical faculty students, 16 nurses and 73 company officials, attended our congress from all over the country. In the Congress Scientific program, 7 courses, 49 conferences, 12 panels, 15 free paper sessions, 3 poster sessions, 24 Experience Transfer Class, Expert Research Contest Session and Assistant Paper Contest sessions were held. 151 speakers, 11 of whom were from abroad and 140 from within the country, shared their experiences with us.

Within the scope of the Turkish Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Association Regional Meetings, at the Eastern Black Sea Region meeting on "Migraine Surgery" held in Trabzon on October 4, 2019. Migraine disease, which concerns nearly 20% of the society and negatively affects the daily life, was discussed with the participation of is Anatomy, Physiology, Neurology and Plastic Surgery experts.

Central Anatolia Region Meeting on Current Approaches in Burn Treatment was organized by the Central Anatolia Regional Office of our Association between 31 August and 1 September at Sivas Cumhuriyet University Faculty of Medicine Campus. In this meeting, in which all details of burn trauma, for which a multidisciplinary treatment approach is a necessity, was discussed in detail, information and experience were conveyed on many issues such as follow-up and rehabilitation process of burn trauma, surgical treatment, and current treatment approaches.

The Eastern Anatolia Region meeting on "Aesthetic Breast Surgery" organised by our association in Van between 12-14 July 2019 was hosted by Van Yuzuncu Yil University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. A total of 100 people attended, including Dr Dmitry Batiukov. At the meeting, current approaches in aesthetic breast surgery and recent developments in breast implant technology were discussed in detail.

TPRECD Central Black Sea Region Meeting was held in Amasya-Sayduzu Barracks between 28-30 June 2019. In this meeting, the Turkish Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Association and the Turkish Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery Association joined forces, and the professional, bureaucratic and legal deterrents that prevent hand surgery applications in the periphery and the treatment approaches to be applied in the most common hand injuries were discussed.

The 12th Rhinoplasty and 5th Facial Aesthetics Course of our Association was held in Mersin between 9-12 May 2019 with an extremely satisfying program both scientifically and socially.

We discussed the latest innovations in breast surgery in Uludag.

Turkish Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Association, XII. Plastic Surgery Assistant School was held between 20-25 April 2019 in Antalya. Post-bariatric surgery, craniofacial surgery, energy-based systems, Botulinum toxin and filler applications, hair transplantation, lip and palate clefts, breast cancer and breast reconstruction, breast augmentation, breast reduction, legal responsibilities in plastic surgery, cellular and regenerative Medicine, eye area aesthetics, face and neck lift, ethics in plastic surgery, patient safety and avoiding complications, rhinoplasty, orthognathic surgery, haemangioma and vascular anomalies, approach to facial trauma, head and neck cancers and treatment, otoplasty and ear reconstruction, hand surgery, skin tumours, lower extremity reconstruction, wound treatment and urogenital plastic surgery were discussed.

TPRECD Winter Symposium was held in Erzurum between 28 February - 3 March 2019, on the 100th anniversary of the Erzurum Congress, which is one of the turning points of the national resistance movement. In our meeting titled “Complication Management and Legal Issues in Plastic Surgery”, 62 distinguished speakers, including expert law representatives and our lawyers, shared their knowledge and experiences with us in 11 sessions. “Masters and Complications Session” was a lecture-type session in all aspects, which attracted the most attention and we are planning to repeat it.

"Media and Ethics Workshop in Plastic Surgery" was held on 09.02.2019 at the American Hospital. 33 speakers invited to the workshop shared their knowledge and experiences on the subject in five separate panels and two round table discussions. Turkish Medical Association Central Council member Dr. Samet Menguc participated as a guest and contributed to the discussions.

IV. Plastic Surgery Assistant Basic Training Course was held in Bolu between 24-27 January 2019. 48 residents from different clinics attended the course. 19 instructors provided training on the subjects of basic approach to hand and maxillofacial injuries and burns, suturing, dressing and wound care, photo shooting, as well as theoretical courses such as wound, bone and nerve healing. The foundation stones that will form the future of our young people who started Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Specialisation Training started to be laid with applied courses such as informatics and presentation skills.
