Professor Dr Şükrü Yazar
Professor Yazar graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Medicine in July 1992. He has completed his residency in the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery in Istanbul University, Cerrahpasa Faculty of Medicine in 2001.
He received training in Addenbrooke’s Hospital (Cambridge, England), Aylesbury - Stoke Mandeville Hospital (Aylesbury, England) and Canniesburn Hospital (Glasgow, Scotland) during his residency. His experimental study titled “Reverse flow skin - muscle flap (A new flap model)” was awarded with the Grand Prize in the Category of Experimental Research in the Research Contest organised by the Turkish Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Association in 2001. This study has also been published in “Annals of Plastic Surgery” Journal together with a discussion paper published by Dr Thomas Krizeg from the USA with the title of “A New Flap Model and a New Surgical Technique” with very positive remarks.
After completing his residency, he went to Taipei, Taiwan in 2002 and worked in Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, which is considered one of the best microsurgery centres in the world, as a Clinical Research Fellow until 2004. One of the research studies he wrote while he was working in this hospital, “Paediatric Head and Neck Free Tissue Transfers”, was awarded with the Grand Prize in “The Award for the Best Resident and Fellow Poster” Category in the Annual Meeting of American Association for Reconstructive Microsurgery, organised in the USA in 2004. This study has also been published in the “Journal of Plastic Reconstructive Aesthetic Surgery”.
He was granted with the Associate Professor title in 2007. The same year, he passed the board examination carried out by the Turkish Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Association and received the Board Certification of the Turkish Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Association.
He passed the board examination organised by the European Association of Plastic Surgery in 2008 and was certified by the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (EBOPRAS). He specialised in Hand Surgery in 2011 and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2012. He was granted with the Professor title in 2013.
Professor Yazar’s area of interests include aesthetic breast surgery, breast reconstruction following cancer treatment, facial aesthetics surgery, rhinoplasty, body contouring and liposuction.
He published numerous articles on the surgical techniques and procedures he has developed in medical journals, as well as lectures and presentations in national and international meetings. He actively participates in scientific meetings, in Turkey and abroad and contributes to the organisation of many scientific meetings, training courses and congresses.

Professor Yazar sees his patients in his private practice based in Nisantasi, Istanbul since December 2017, offering the latest technology and treatments. The clinic is certified by the Turkish Ministry of Health for medical tourism.
He carries out surgery in fully accredited, private Acibadem Maslak Hospital and American Hospital based in Nisantasi. Both hospitals have Joint Commission International Certification and also certified by the Turkish Ministry of Health for medical tourism. They are amongst the most reputable hospitals in Istanbul with the latest technology and dedicated teams of medical professionals.
He has international work experience in addition to extensive experience dealing with the international patients from Europe, the Middle East and CIS counties.
Professor Yazar speaks fluent English and professional level German.
