Filler Applications

What is a filler injection?

Dermal fillers are non-surgical aesthetic procedures that can be used to correct deformities in almost every area of the body today. They involve injecting gel-like substances under the skin to restore volume to areas that have lost volume, to smooth the skin, and to improve facial features. This treatment, frequently sought after by both women and men worldwide, helps individuals achieve a much younger and more aesthetically pleasing complexion. Performed without surgery, filler and Botox injections are becoming increasingly popular and preferred by more and more people.

Which areas are suitable for filler injections?

Volume loss is a major cause of the appearance of signs of aging. This condition, usually seen in the nose and mouth area, causes the cheeks to sink inward as the tissues thin. Dermal fillers can correct wrinkles and plump the lips. Thus, volume deficiencies are addressed, giving the person a much younger appearance. Generally;

  • Eliminating facial sagging,
  • Enlarging the cheekbones,
  • Eliminating wrinkles around the nostrils or corners of the lips,
  • Eliminating wrinkles that extend from the corners of the mouth to the chin,
  • Lip shaping or augmentation,
  • Removing wrinkles around the lips,
  • Removing lines between the eyebrows,
  • Eyebrow shaping,
  • Jawline correction,
  • Nose lifting and reshaping,

It is used in cases such as covering up acne or scar marks.

Why are filler treatments used?

In general, filler injections are used to treat wrinkles. Individuals most frequently choose them for facial applications such as “Lip Fillers, Cheek Fillers, Cheekbone Fillers, and Chin Fillers.” They are particularly used to eliminate lines around the nose and mouth, add volume to sunken cheeks, correct facial symmetry, and reduce wrinkles on the chin. In this procedure, which usually requires only one session, the filler materials are natural and safe. Generally performed under local anesthesia, the filler material is injected under the skin in the area where volume is desired. This procedure, which takes approximately half an hour, does not require any incisions. Therefore, there is no risk of scarring.

Nose Filler

Nose filler is a procedure used to correct deformities in the shape of the nose without the need for surgery. Small bumps, curvatures, or drooping nasal tips on the nasal bone can be balanced with fillers. This results in a more symmetrical and aesthetically pleasing nose appearance.

Lip Filler

Lip fillers are used to add volume to the lips, define the lip contours, and create a more balanced lip structure. They also help to reduce fine lines around the lips.

Temple Filler

The hollowness that develops in the temple area over time can give the face a tired expression. Temple fillers add volume to this area, giving the upper part of the face a youthful, fuller, and more proportionate look.

Cheek Filler

Cheek fillers are used to correct volume loss in the middle of the face, accentuate the cheekbones, and achieve a more vibrant facial expression. This helps define facial contours and provides a natural lifting effect.

Chin Filler

Chin filler helps to balance the facial profile by defining the jawline. A recessed chin can be brought forward, enhancing facial symmetry. It is particularly preferred by those who desire a clearer and more aesthetically pleasing look in the lower face.

Under-eye filler

Under-eye fillers are used to eliminate dark circles, hollows, and bags under the eyes. This procedure helps achieve a more refreshed, vibrant, and healthy facial expression.

What are the materials used for filler injections?

A wide variety of filling materials are available. The most preferred ones are:

  • Hyaluronic Acid (HA)
  • Autologous Fat Injection
  • Hyaluronic Acid:
Hyaluronic acid is the most preferred filler material for facial injections. Injecting this material into the tissues beneath the skin helps eliminate deep lines and wrinkles. This acid, naturally present in the skin, decreases with age. This leads to water loss in the skin, resulting in the formation of wrinkles. Today, hyaluronic acid is produced synthetically in laboratories, providing moisture and fullness to the injected areas. Furthermore, because it has no effect on muscles, it helps maintain a natural appearance.
  • Autologous Fat Injection:
Autologous fat, obtained from the patient’s own fat tissue, is filtered and then injected into the desired area to fill in areas of volume loss. This method requires surgery to harvest the fat from the patient.

Filler Injection Frequently Asked Questions

The most frequently asked questions about aesthetic procedures before, during, and after.

Generally considered a very safe method, dermal filler injections rarely cause side effects. Although rare, swelling may occur in the treated area for a few hours. There is also a small possibility of allergic reactions such as redness at the injection sites.

The results of the injection are immediately noticeable to the patient after the procedure. Mild swelling or redness may occur occasionally, but these disappear quickly. The patient can immediately return to their daily life after treatment. Following treatment, the patient should avoid lying face down for 5-7 days, and should refrain from excessively hot environments, exercise, and facial expressions.

The appearance after filler injections is generally natural. However, the quality of the material used and the experience of the person performing the procedure are very important. When done with quality materials and by experienced professionals, the effects of filler injections can last up to 12 months. The success and reliability of the procedure are also linked to choosing an experienced surgeon.

Filler injections are not administered to pregnant or breastfeeding mothers, as well as individuals with skin infections or inflammation. Furthermore, this procedure is not performed on individuals who have been found to be sensitive to fillers after examination.
