Prof. Dr. Şükrü Yazar
Prof. Dr. Şükrü Yazar graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1992 and completed his residency in Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery at Istanbul University, Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, in 2001.
During his residency, he received training in Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, England; Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Aylesbury; and Canniesburn Hospital in Glasgow, Scotland. The experimental study he conducted during his residency, titled “Reverse-Flow Skin-Muscle Flap” (A New Flap Model), won the First Prize in the “Experimental Research Study” category at the research competition organized by the Turkish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery in 2001. This study was also published in the journal *Annals of Plastic Surgery*, accompanied by a highly positive commentary written by Dr. Thomas Krizeg from the United States, who described it as “a new flap model and surgical technique.” Dr. Şükrü Yazar worked for two years as a “Clinical Research Fellow” at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taipei, Taiwan—known as “the world’s best microsurgery center”—during his residency from 2002 to 2004.
During his time working in Taiwan, he conducted numerous scientific studies and published many papers. One of these studies, a clinical study titled “Safety and Reliability of Microsurgical Free Tissue Transfers in Pediatric Head and Neck Reconstruction,” won First Prize in the “Best Poster Presentation” category at the Research Competition organized by the American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery in 2004. Dr. Yazar’s study was also published in the journal *J Plastic Reconstructive Aesthetic Surgery*.

Dr. Yazar successfully passed the examination administered by the Inter-University Council in December 2007, thereby earning the title of Associate Professor. In December of the same year, he also successfully passed the examination administered by the Turkish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery, receiving the Turkish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery Certificate of Competence.
In 2008, he successfully passed the certification exam organized by the European Association of Plastic Surgeons (EAPS), thereby earning the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (EBOPRAS) Certification. Dr. Şükrü Yazar, who also completed his subspecialty training in Hand Surgery in 2011 and in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2012, was promoted to the rank of Professor in 2013.

Prof. Dr. Şükrü Yazar, who has been serving as a faculty member at Acıbadem University’s Faculty of Medicine since December 2008, served as Chair of the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery from 2015 to 2017. He continues his academic work as a faculty member at Acıbadem University’s Faculty of Medicine.
Prof. Dr. Şükrü Yazar focuses primarily on aesthetic breast surgery, breast reconstruction following cancer, facial aesthetics, and aesthetic rhinoplasty, as well as other areas of facial and body surgery. He has published—and continues to publish—numerous national and international scientific articles and book chapters detailing the surgical techniques and methods he has developed. Engaged in extensive educational activities, Prof. Dr. Şükrü Yazar, as a Board Member responsible for Scientific Affairs at the Turkish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery, organizes numerous national and international meetings, courses, and congresses, where he regularly delivers lectures and serves as an instructor.
Prof. Dr. Şükrü Yazar has been performing clinical and non-surgical medical aesthetic procedures at the “Şükrü Yazar Clinic” in Nişantaşı since 2017. In addition to aesthetic plastic surgery procedures, the Şükrü Yazar Clinic also offers treatments and procedures using the latest technological devices in the field of aesthetics. Furthermore, the clinic provides mental health counseling and nutrition counseling services.
Prof. Dr. Şükrü Yazar performs his surgeries at Acıbadem Maslak Hospital, Acıbadem Altunizade Hospital, and the American Hospital.

V. Plastik Cerrahi Asistan Temel Eğitim Kursu — V. Plastik Cerrahi Asistan Temel Eğitim Kursu The 5th Basic Training Course for Plastic Surgery Residents was held in Antalya from January 22–25, 2020. Fifty-eight residents from various clinics across the country participated in this training.
Yüz ve Kulak Rekonstrüksiyonu — Yüz ve Kulak Rekonstrüksiyonu The Aegean Regional Meeting on “Facial and Ear Reconstruction” was held in Izmir on November 29–30, 2019. An important way to combat encroachments on our specialty from various sources is to do our jobs to the best of our ability.
TPRECD 41. Ulusal Kurultayı — TPRECD 41. Ulusal Kurultayı On the 100th anniversary of the War of Independence, TPRECD held its 41st National Congress in Samsun from October 26–30, 2019. A total of 470 people attended our Congress from all across the country, including 211 specialists, 131 medical residents, 9 medical students, 16 nurses, and 73 company representatives.
Estetik Meme Cerrahisi — Estetik Meme Cerrahisi A total of 100 people, including Dr. Dmitry Batiukov from Belarus, attended the meeting. During the meeting, current approaches in aesthetic breast surgery and the latest developments in breast implant technology were discussed and debated in detail from every angle.
