Leg Aesthetics

What is Leg Aesthetics?

Leg aesthetics refers to cosmetic surgical procedures used to treat congenital or acquired problems in the legs, such as thinness or thickness, crookedness, curvature, asymmetrical legs (deformity of legs of different thicknesses), X-legs (knees close together), and O-legs (knees far apart), etc.

Crooked Leg Aesthetic Treatment

Leg correction surgery is a very common type of surgery today. These surgeries help individuals with frail and thin appearances to alleviate their concerns about body aesthetics. Currently, very successful results are achieved in leg correction surgeries, and they are performed in two different ways.

  • Leg aesthetics procedure with silicone implants,
  • Leg aesthetics procedure with fat injection,
  • Silicone Implants for Correcting Crooked Legs
Leg correction surgeries, like breast augmentation surgeries, can be performed using silicone implants. The surgery involves placing silicone implants in the area of the leg to improve its aesthetic appearance. The surgery is relatively easy, and the silicone prostheses used are rod-shaped and vary in quality. The surgery is performed under general anesthesia, and the patient stays in the hospital for one day.

The success rate is quite high, and revision surgeries are generally not needed. After the surgery, the patient should avoid straining their legs and refrain from physical activity for approximately two weeks.

  • Leg Aesthetics with Fat Injection
Another method used for correcting crooked legs is fat injection. This type of procedure is generally applied to individuals with minimal leg deformities. The operation involves injecting fat, removed from fatty areas of the body using liposuction, into the leg area. This procedure, which must be performed by specialists in aesthetic and plastic surgery, requires careful attention to ensuring a balanced transfer of fat. While the surgery is usually completed in a single session, women who are particular about leg aesthetics may request a second session after 6-7 days. The transferred fat can create visual problems in the recipient tissue over time. Therefore, second sessions may be necessary for leg aesthetics using fat injection. For individuals with significant localized fat deposits who wish to undergo this aesthetic procedure, addressing weight problems simultaneously is crucial. The presence of fat is essential for leg aesthetics with fat injection. For this reason, fat transfer is not considered very suitable for patients with a thin anatomy. Silicone injections are generally preferred for women with thin legs.

Before and After Aesthetic Crooked Leg Surgery

  • Pre
Leg correction surgery is performed to address the aesthetic concerns of patients who are in good general health and dissatisfied with the shape of their legs. Prior to the surgery, the individual must be at least 18 years old, free from chronic illnesses, blood clotting disorders, and any disease requiring regular medication. To achieve the desired results after surgery, individuals must provide detailed information about their medical history during the pre-operative examination.
  • Post
Following cosmetic leg surgeries, patients’ current condition and expected recovery process are shared with them by their doctors. Depending on the degree of surgery, some patients may be discharged the same day and return to their daily routines, while others may be able to walk within 3-5 days.

Patients who undergo fat transfer surgery can shower and bathe the second day after the procedure. However, they should wait a month before engaging in strenuous physical activity. While slight bruising may occur after leg aesthetic surgery using fat transfer, these signs disappear within a few days without leaving any marks. Doctors recommend that patients sleep with pillows under their feet for a few days to prevent swelling.

Patients who have undergone leg correction surgery are advised to wear compression stockings for approximately 3 weeks. Lymphatic drainage massage is also recommended for several months after the operation. This helps to reduce swelling more quickly and facilitates easier leg shaping. Regular use of medications prescribed by the doctor is essential during the recovery period.

What are the prices for leg aesthetic surgery?

It is prohibited for hospitals, aesthetic clinics, and health centers approved by the Turkish Ministry of Health to list leg aesthetic surgery prices on their websites. All official health institutions that do not comply with this rule are subject to penalties.

Leg Aesthetics Frequently Asked Questions

The most frequently asked questions about aesthetic procedures before, during, and after.

  • People who have deformities in their legs and experience aesthetic concerns and psychological problems as a result,
  • Individuals who are dissatisfied with the distribution of fat in their lower or upper thighs,
  • People who notice problems with thickness or thinness in their ankles.

The methods used in leg aesthetics have no side effects on the body. For example, in fat transfer, fat taken from the patient’s own tissue is used, and this fat continues its life in another area of the body. Since the operations are performed with minimal and pinpoint incisions, there is no risk of incision scarring as in other surgeries.
