What is breast sagging?

People always want to look good and be liked. When they experience deformations or undesirable changes in their body due to aging, some genetic reasons, and lifestyle, they begin to be unhappy in their social lives. The breast form disorder and sagging problem experienced by women is also such unhappiness.

Breast sagging is a deformation that occurs when the mammary glands, adipose tissue and the “Cooper ligament” that hold the breast to the chest muscles are loosened and elongated.

How to understand that the breasts are saggy and how is the test done?

There are many methods for women to check whether the breasts are saggy or not. Although it is best to be examined by a specialist doctor, women can analyse whether their breasts are sagging by looking in the mirror and examining them by hand. Apart from these, the best method applied to understand whether the breasts have a definite sagging problem is the method of checking with a pencil. In this process, the pen is tried to be placed under the breast. In this test application, if the pen does not get stuck in the lower part of the breast and falls to the ground, you should be happy, this result means that your breast does not sag. However, if the pen rests under your breast while doing this test, you can diagnose that your breast is sagging. So, what could be the reasons for this disappointing problem for women?

What are the factors that cause the breasts to sag?

  • The life cycle, the progression of age and the effect of gravity
  • Hormonal changes and excessive weight gain and loss
  • Physical changes during pregnancy, enlargement and stretching of the breast filled with milk and shrinkage after breastfeeding
  • Negative effects of sunbathing for a long time on the skin
  • The habit of taking a shower with very hot water
  • Smoking and alcohol consumption
  • Medicines used for any disease
  • Wrong bra preferences
  • Sleeping style habit
  • Malnutrition and sleeping disorders
  • Lack of exercise

What can you do to maintain the form of your tight, fit and upright breasts?

  1. Sports and exercise
    Individuals who are too busy to spare time for themselves are looking for an effective and practical method. Thanks to the exercises that are done frequently with minimal times daily, sagging in the breasts (breasts) can be prevented by exercising the muscles. In this way, the chest gains a more upright appearance.
    • Dips exercise
      This exercise, which is done with the help of a sofa or chair, can be done comfortably and practically at home.

      • Place your hands behind you on the chair chosen for the exercise.
      • Stand in a semi-sitting position with the help of your arms.
      • Move your hips down and then up.
      • Repeat these steps 7-8 times.

    As you will get help from your arms, feet and upper body chest area while doing the above exercise for breast tightening, you will contribute to the tightening of your breasts and gain a more upright appearance with the effort you spend with this sporting activity.

    • Bench pres
      Lie on your back and take as much weight as you can lift. The weight, which is lifted up at the chest level, is slowly lowered down at the chest level again, and it is done in the form of 10 repetitions. If this movement is done regularly, you will feel the difference in your breasts within 1-2 months.
    • Push-ups
      First, lie face down on a flat surface. Then get into an upright position with help from the palms of your hands and the tips of your toes. Lift and lower your body by moving first up and then down to move your whole body with support from the arms and chest. Start with 2 sets of 6 repetitions and gradually increase the sets and reps. After a certain period of time, you will feel the aesthetic change in your breasts by having a more fit body.
    • Pull-ups
      You can start the exercise by fixing any iron bar to a higher point in your home than yourself. First, hold the iron bar firmly with your hands at shoulder level and facing the opposite side. Lift your whole body up in the same direction and lower it down in the same direction. During this process, as your whole body will be involved in the exercise, your breasts will tighten and gain a more upright appearance. You can start as 1 set of 5 reps and increase over time.
  1. Choosing the right bra
    Using bras that are larger or smaller than your breasts will cause problems. Using bras that are suitable for your lifestyle and movement style will reduce the risk of sagging. While jogging, jumping rope, the breasts move up and down, so the risk of sagging can be doubled. If the bra used in sports and the bra you use in daily life are different, sagging will be at a minimum level.
  1. Sunscreen creams
    Neck area and thorax are also affected by the sun. By protecting these areas from the sun, premature aging of the skin is prevented, thus sagging skin is prevented. By applying sunscreen, you will protect yourself from harmful rays and eliminate another factor that will cause your breasts to sag.
  1. Skin tightening creams and massage
    Skin tightening creams, approved by the World Health Organization (WHO, delay breast sagging to some extent. Since applying the creams with a light massage accelerates the blood circulation in that area, you will slow down the sagging problem to a certain extent.
  1. Hot cold water shock shower and bath
    It is one of the methods that is very simple and effective to use. This method, also known as shock application, is performed by keeping water cold enough to stand on the breasts during the shower and then hot water. Repeat this for a few minutes. In this way, your blood circulation accelerates and the chest gains tension and gains a more upright appearance over time.

This solution is a more permanent and effective solution for breast sagging in the short term.     Appropriate physical activity, various creams and massage play a role in preventing and delaying breast sagging. However, if there is breast sagging, breast lift surgery should be preferred for an effective and permanent solution.
