Arm lifts are performed to reduce excess fat tissue in areas such as the arms, armpits, and elbows that cannot be eliminated through diet and exercise, and to address loss of skin elasticity and sagging.

What are the Aesthetic Arm Lift Methods?

Arm Lift Surgery: The type and method of arm lift surgery are determined based on the degree of skin sagging and the thickness of the subcutaneous fat tissue in the arm area. Arm lift surgeries are performed under general or local anesthesia, depending on the patient’s condition. Those who undergo surgery under local anesthesia can be discharged the same day under the doctor’s supervision, while those who undergo arm lift surgery under general anesthesia can be discharged the next day.

Arm lift surgery takes 1.5-2 hours.

Patients can take a shower two days after arm lift surgery.

The patient can resume sports activities after 1-1.5 months.

Liposuction Method

Three different techniques are commonly used in liposuction for arm lifts.

Tumescent Liposuction

This technique is one of the most frequently used liposuction procedures. Also known as liposculpture, this method involves injecting a large amount of diluted lidocaine (local anesthetic) and epinephrine (capillary constrictor) into the fat tissue in the problem area, making the targeted tissue swollen and firm. Excess fat tissue is removed through very small incisions using micro-cannulas. No damage is done to surrounding tissues during these procedures. This fat is then placed just below the surface of the skin. This makes the arm much firmer and fuller. Tumescent liposuction is performed under local anesthesia. It also prevents surgical blood loss because it constricts capillaries. Since fluid is supplied to the body via subcutaneous injection, IV fluids are not needed.

Laser Liposuction

In this technique, which uses laser energy to liquefy accumulated fat tissue, the melted fat tissue is removed from the body using microcannulas. Like tumescent liposuction, it produces successful results without causing excessive damage to surrounding tissues.

Furthermore, a sterile saline solution is used for much faster healing. This results in faster and more effective skin tightening after surgery. The laser’s ability to melt fat cells, which are difficult to reach through fibrous tissue, and its role in tightening the skin on the arm, is particularly beneficial for liposuction performed on the arm.

Vaser Liposuction

It uses heat from ultrasonic energy to break down fat tissue and emulsify fat cells. The liquefied fat tissue is then easily removed from the body through a thin cannula. Like laser liposuction, this technique uses advanced technology to achieve maximum fat removal with minimal impact on surrounding tissue, resulting in a very natural and successful outcome. Vaser liposuction applied to the arm is a revolutionary fat removal procedure that offers an immediate solution and quick results.

Regardless of the liposuction technique used, if there is excess skin, it must be surgically removed after the procedure. Sometimes the excess skin is limited to the armpit, and sometimes it extends to the elbow. In the first case, the excess skin can be tightened by leaving a limited scar that can be hidden only in the armpit. In the second case, the arm lift procedure is completed by leaving a scar on the inside of the arm. However, this scar is not visible from the front or back.

Arm Lift Surgery Prices

It is illegal for hospitals, aesthetic clinics, and treatment centers approved by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Turkey to list arm lift surgery prices on their websites and portals, and the state imposes penalties on clinics that do not comply with this rule. Furthermore, in order to provide a patient with a precise price for arm lift procedures, the specialist doctor must objectively evaluate the patient’s complaints and expectations, and examine and analyze the relevant areas on the patient’s arm. Arm lift prices can only be determined after an initial examination of the male patient and the assessment of the necessary surgical procedures.

For questions and consultations regarding arm lift surgery, please contact Professor Dr. Şükrü YAZAR, a Specialist in Aesthetic, Plastic, and Reconstructive Surgery at Nişantaşı Aesthetic Clinic, during business hours ☏ +90 212 257 1515 | +90 541 334 3484 You can call the phone numbers provided and request an appointment by saying you would like to speak with a specialist doctor about arm lift procedures and prices.

What is an arm lift and why is it performed?
