In other words, prominent ears can be considered a developmental anomaly of the ear. The surgical operation that attempts to give prominent ears a normal appearance is called otoplasty or prominent ear correction surgery.<\/p>\n

Deformities in the ear cartilage are the most important cause of prominent ear deformity. In other words, an excessive angle between the ear and the head, and the ear tilting forward, create this problem in the ear.<\/p>\n

According to scientific research, 10% of patients have a hereditary condition of protruding ears. However, there is no genetic rule that every child of a person with protruding ears will also have protruding ears.
